San Diego Weekend

Feb 10, 2018 David and I decided to go to San Diego for the weekend. I have a Companion Pass this year and we are trying to take advantage of it. We flew in to San Diego on Saturday and got there about 1:00 p.m. We collected our rental car with very little fanfare and got on our way. Checked in to the 1906 Lodge where we had reservations and then headed to Balboa Park. Balboa is an amazing park which covers acres in the middle of San Diego downtown area. It holds the famous San Diego Zoo as well as 16 different museums. We wandered around the trails encircling the park and grabbed a sandwich at the Cafe at the Park - not too awesome but David was a lot more positive about his food than I was mine. We watched a film about the history of the park that was interesting but not sure how much will stick in my brain. Loved all the plants, trees and shrubs on the trails - some were extremely unusual.
